CHASRO is a community organisation which aims
- To maintain the character of our area by preventing overdevelopment, specifically the demolition of single family dwellings and the building of blocks of flats in their place.
- To support our members and residents within the CHASRO area, in activities opposing overdevelopment which include, but are not limited to, highlighting planning applications and suggesting responses and support in enforcing covenants. This support will include raising funds for legal costs in enforcing covenants.
- We proudly support the Purley Food Hub
The History of CHASROA group of by residents came together to oppose the demolition of 444 Selsdon Road, 56 West Hill and 1 Sandhurst Way and their replacement with 31 flats. This opposition took the form of objecting to planning applications, raising funds for legal advice and threatening legal action to enforce restrictive covenants, and if necessary, taking the developers and property owners to Court. These residents are poised to take legal action to enforce restrictive covenants should any of these developments go ahead.
